The Flinders Ranges
27th Sep. 2010
Today we said goodbye to the desert and drove into the Flinders Ranges.
The Flinders Ranges, parts of which date back over a billion years, is a mountain range in the north of South Australia and stretches for almost 500km.
In the morning we had a lovely hike at the beginning (Or end, depending on how one sees it) of the longest hiking trail in Australia - the Heysen Trail. Afterwards we drove to the beautiful village of Blinman, where we ate the world's best pies :) I was in raptures over the kangaroo pies. After lunch we made our way into the Flinders Ranges National Park and ended the day at our next camping ground "Rawnsley Park Station".
